Favorite Chapter Activity #1

In our English class, at SIS, we were assigned to make different activities in groups for different sections of the story “The Kite Runner” By Khaled Hosseni. One such activity was a poem for Chapters 15-16. I helped write a lot of it, and quite frankly in my opinion I thought it was great poem.

Chapter 15-16 Poem

Hassan

The friend who you can always count on

Amir

The boy who wants to look good in front of his peers

Hassan and Amir

Best friends every year

What happened to these two?

Only a few ever knew

That Amir watched his best friend

Get raped that one weekend

And he didn't say a thing

He just kept on living

But now Amir is back in Afghanistan

He is now a grown man

Who wants to fix his mistake

For Hassan’s sake

Rahim Khan told him what he had missed

That the Taliban now exist

Hassan lives in babas house

Along with his new spouse

They had a child

That made them smile

But sadly it was a stillborn

So they began to mourn

But one day Hassan’s mother came back

After she had been attacked

They soon became close

As if they were amigos

Hassan then had a baby boy

Who brought there family lots of joy

Sohrab, was his name

And he loved to play games

Hassan loved him instantly,

Sohrab loved him back unconditionally
