Neighborhood in Houston, (April 20, 2016)

Water flows through Houston's streets

Like it is the Ocean

Thousands have lost their homes

Floods cause a commotion

The people look for safety

Seven dead, many scared

Where will the citizens go?

People were unprepared

For some, the floods have ended

For some, it has just begun

Twelve hundred have been rescued

The damage is not done

This poem is a ballad(a type of poem, with a rhyme scheme of "abab") AJ made for English about a recent tragedy. He chose to write about the recent flooding in the city of Houston, where lots of damage had been done to the city. He chose it because he had been to that city in Texas, and it shocked him that all this damage happened to these innocent people.
