Favorite Movie Based On A Book

The Mortal Instruments is a book series written by Cassandra Clare. The first installment of the series was made into a movie called City of Bones. The movies is actually very accurate, considering Cassandra Clare was there on set. The whole movies is about a girl named Clary who discovers a whole new world hidden among the human world and that all the stories are true. Her mother gets captured so she teams up with a group of shadowhunters, Jace, Isabelle, and Alec to save her. The two main characters are Clary played by Lily Collins and Jace played by Jamie Campbell Bower. It is now a T.V. series on freeform with different characters, and it has its own little spin on the books.

The reason why this is my favorite movie based on a book is because the whole time it had my attention. It made me so interested in the series, in fact before I watched the movie I did not know that this was even a book series. Usually when I watch a movie based on a book I have no desire to read the books, but for this series I did. The whole concept that Cassandra Clare wrote about was just so different to me. I usually love reading about the supernatural world, so this was the perfect movie/book series for me. This book actually reminds me of another book series that I am reading called the Goddess Test, by Aimee Carter.

The Goddess Test is the first book followed by three more, it is all about Kate Winters, a regular girl with a mother battling cancer. When they move to a small town where her mother grew up, something happens to Kate that changes her life forever. It turns out her mother is a goddess, and Kate has to go through a test to save Henry or Hades. The connection between the two books is not only the supernatural part, but the hidden world part as well. In this book there are people Kate meet that are supposed to help her along the way, they all look like regular people but are in fact gods and goddesses. And not only that but most of it either takes place in the Garden of Eden or the Eden Manor and in the underworld or hell.

The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare will always be one of my favorite movies based on a book. And one of my top favorite book series. I really suggest to anyone who has an interest in this genre to watch or read the series.
