This semester, we learned about many different topics such as slavery, Native Americans, colonization and Spanish explorers. We wrote historical narratives, reflections and essays all about what we learned. We read the stories, answered questions about them, and learned from them. Some stories that we have read over the semester are La Relacion, General History of Virginia, and the Narrative of the life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave. Also, we watched videos and documentaries, for example, Girl Rising, Montana Mosaic- Boarding School, Stolen Children and Changing the way we see Native Americans. From every lesson we were taught, we took certain ideas that can help us in our daily lives.

From the Native Americans we learned the importance of our culture and to be proud of where we come from. From all the historical narratives we learned how hard the lives of the explorers were and how important their roles in history were. After reading about the struggle slaves and Native Americans had to go through we realized how important it is to get an education. And how lucky we are to be able to receive an education. Lastly from the documentary, girl rising we learned how lucky girls are in America, and in other parts of the world we automatically receive an education, we do not have to fight for it. This is everything we learned, this semester that we find very important and useful.
