All the Bright Places is a book about a boy named Theodore Finch and a girl named Violet Markey. They are two different people who come together. Violet lives for the future, and is quite popular in her school. She has her goals and she works hard to achieve them, but loses her spark after she lost her sister in a car accident. Finch on the other hand is fascinated by death. Everyday he thinks of different ways he could possibly die from, but he manages to find someone to keep him here on this earth, Violet Markey. Finch and Violet meet on the ledge of the bell tower at school, six stories above the ground where Violet was supposedly going to jump off, until Finch convinces her not to. From there they become friends, but Violet wanted nothing to do with Finch at first. After all he was the school freak. Soon it's only with Violet that Finch can be himself, a bold, funny, outgoing guy, who's not such a freak after all.

This book was my favorite out of all the books that I have read so far because in general this book kept me interested, and the plot of the story was good. I enjoyed reading this book. The beginning was suspenseful and made me want to read the rest of the book. A connection that I can make with this book is how Violet lost her sister in a car accident, and I have lost someone that was very close to me. It’s very hard to cope with, but I can’t imagine losing one of my siblings. I can also relate to Violet since I am fortunate enough to have really close friends that are there for me when I am going through really difficult times.
